10 TV Shows That Would Have Been Better On HBO

1. The X-Files

When it was announced that The X-Files would be making a mini-series style return this year, I was devastated that the show didn't do so on HBO. This is perhaps the biggest missed connection in TV history. When trying to imagine how incredible the X-Files would be on HBO, don't think about the good episodes; think about the bad ones. Think about the uninspired monster of the week episodes that would sometimes drag down chunks of even the show's best seasons.

Now imagine that more of those episodes could have been done more in the style of the controversial episode Home. Consider the possibility of The X-Files getting to put on Tales From The Crypt level monster stories on a weekly basis. The characters, dialog and overarching stories that made the series so great would all still be in place, but now the show's fondness for disturbing paranormal and extraterrestrial cases would be amplified by the ability to really get weird with it.
