The Basics: Take every fairy-tale character Disney ever portrayed and turn them all on their heads. Each one interconnected to the same, or similar realms, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, Mulan, The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Pinocchio and many others were all living in relative peace until the Evil Queen whisked most of them away from the Enchanted Forest and into a land where magic does not exist (for the most part): our modern world. In a new land and with no memory of their past life (mostly told in flashbacks), it seems the Queen has won. Fast forward 28 years and the savior, the lost daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming, finally breaks the curse thanks to the son, Henry, she gave up 11 years ago. The Turn Up: This season upped the stakes by giving us something many had hoped for since the show's debut with the introduction of Neverland and Peter Pan. We find our band of heroes (Mr. Gold, Regina, Snow White and Prince Charming and Captain Hook) led by the Savior, Emma Swan. This Peter Pan is not the happy go-lucky child-man we grew up with, but someone that even Mr. Gold feared. This Pan was bent on using Henry's heart to restore his magic and allow him to vanquish all in his way. We see our former villains, Mr. Gold and Regina, become self-sacrificing heroes and Emma finally embracing her role as Savior. But the mid-season finale gave us a great cliff-hanger to entice us for more unexpected adventure when the show resumes in March!
