Given that The Cubs hadn't won a World Series in 108 years, it got a few laughs when the team took home the Commissioner’s Trophy in an episode of Parks and Recreation set two years in the future.

The episode Ron and Jammy aired during the comedy's seventh and final season and it found the gang visiting Chicago, a city in the midst of celebration because its baseball team had just lifted the coveted cup.

This aired in 2015, a time when The Cubs' century-long curse was showing no signs of lifting, but the following year, the franchise pulled off the impossible by securing its first World Series title since 1908.

Scripted TV predictions are often dark or shocking, but Parks and Recreation came up with one that made thousands of sports fans happy when it happened for real.
