10 TV Shows Which Eerily Predicted The Future
2. Quantum Leap - The Super Bowl
The Quantum Leap writers must have had the Sports Almanac from Back to the Future: Part II on their side when they wrote this episode because their scoreline prediction for Superbowl XXX was oddly on the money.
The episode All-Americans aired in 1990, but this being a time-hopping drama, it took place in 1996 and depicted that year's Superbowl, in which the Pittsburgh Steelers are trailing by three points right at the death.
Fast forward six years, and the Steelers are playing Superbowl XXX. In the closing stages of the game, they found themselves trailing to the Dallas Cowboys by 20 points to 17, and you probably don't need an abacus to work out that's a difference of three points, the same deficit they were behind by in Quantum Leap.
Despite dealing with the future on a weekly basis, you'd be hard pressed to find another example of Quantum Leap coming up with an accurate prediction.
