10 TV Shows With Plot Points That Go NOWHERE

1. Brooklyn Nine-Nine - Boyle's Food Truck

Game Of Thrones
NBC

Brooklyn Nine Nine's Charles Boyle is such a loveable character. He's a dependable friend, a constant source of laughter and a passionate man. This is why the prospect of him achieving his dream of owning a food truck was so exciting, and fans were ready to see it take off. Sadly, "The One Thing" didn't launch Boyle into the stratosphere of culinary fame; instead, it went out in a disappointing blaze.

The concept itself seemed to come out of nowhere, as with no warning, the episode "Bad Beat" revealed that Boyle had bought a food truck with Amy as his investor. After some tension over the fact that Amy seemed less invested in Boyle's dream and more the finances, she came too and indulged Boyle's vision.

Next was "The Negotiation", where Amy and Gina worked with Boyle in the truck under a strange tyrannical system. Finally, after finding out how much the truck was stressing him out in "Gray Star Mutual", it got burned down, and Boyle just accepted it, got the insurance money and moved on.

This entire plot seemed geared to let viewers see Boyle attain his dream, but then it came to an abrupt halt. Food has always driven Boyle to push hard, so seeing him give up on his dream so nonchalantly made the entire plot feel pointless and out of character.
