10 TV Shows With Plot Points That Go NOWHERE

9. It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia - Charlie And Dee Hook Up

Game Of Thrones

Sitcoms tend to be some of the most impulsive shows on television, as they constantly need to create funny drama to drive the plot forward. Always Sunny is no stranger to this, as the series entirely revolves around spontaneous ideas, particularly in the fantastic episode "The Gang Misses The Boat".

In this outing, each lead tries to change how they live their lives after missing a boat party. This leads to a shocking moment between Dee and Charlie as they grow close and eventually hook up, instantly regretting it afterwards and acting hostile toward each other.

Despite this being a dramatic revelation, it falls off the radar once the episode is over. There's only one major reference to it afterwards in "Time's Up For The Gang", but otherwise, it's like the show completely forgot they did this.

It's often irritating when sitcoms force a romance between two leading characters, so in that sense, abandoning this plot was a good decision. However, ignoring that it happened entirely - save for one reference later on - makes you wonder why they even made it happen in the first place.

Fans didn't want to see them together, but there were still opportunities for some further awkward humour.
