10 TV Shows You Didn't Know Shared The Same Sets
4. The Wonder Years And Glee
High School is tough. Being a teenager going through puberty, having to go to school 5 days a week to get a draining education and dealing with the drama of your own social life: it's a hell-scape. There are many television shows that go about telling that story for young audiences to watch and relate to. To be honest, teen angst is probably the easiest thing to write about considering it truly is dramatic and traumatic for the average real-life teenager.
The Wonder Years, which aired from the late 80s through to the early 90s, set about telling this exact story; but with a twist. The show followed the adult Kevin Arnold as he tells the story of his adolescent life during the late 1960s. The High School Kevin attended was called William McKinley High School - which may sound familiar...
William McKinley High was the name of the Ohio based school in the famous musical television show Glee. Most of Glee's action takes place in the halls and classrooms of WMH and was a mixture of set pieces and real locations from actual high schools. Similar to The Wonder Years.
But the name isn't the only thing the two shows shared. In fact, Glee recycled several sets from The Wonder Years! Does this mean the two shows take place in the same universe? The Wonder Years never actually specified where it was set so it's totally plausible both shows took place in the exact same town. Mind = Blown.
