10 TV Shows You Should Stop Watching Before The Final Season

9. House Of Cards

OITNB Season Six
NBC

Oh god, where to even start with this one?

House of Cards started streaming in 2013 and quickly gained a loyal, adoring audience. Following the daring political pursuits of Frank Underwood and his wife, Claire, the show rose to fame and was the first online-only series to be nominated in several major Emmy categories.

Cue 2017 and the allegations against lead Kevin Spacey coming out, and suddenly the production team faced a bit of a difficult decision. Netflix announced that Spacey would not be appearing in the upcoming season and, to resolve things with the story, they went ahead and killed off his character.

Turns out a lot of people weren’t happy about the Frank Underwood shaped hole in the sixth season, in spite of everything happening with Spacey at the time. Frank’s death wasn’t shown on-screen; instead, it was used as a mystery element throughout the last season before finally revealing at the very last moment how it happened.

The issues with this final instalment weren’t necessarily related to Spacey not being there, but more with how the narrative resolved itself in his absence. Never-before-mentioned characters suddenly became big-hitters, Claire's character underwent some weird, abrupt changes and the final scene really was... something else.

To stop watching at the end of Season Five wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world. The cliffhanger ending encourages your imagination to go wild thinking of what could happen next, and maybe it’s better to leave it on that note than to go on and be disappointed with what actually does happen.
