10 Unexpected Sitcom Scenes That Made Us Bawl Our Eyes Out

7. Fry's Dog Waits - Futurama

Futurama's not known for being all that soppy, considering the number of inappropriate (and occasionally inane) toilet-humour jokes from the always outrageous Bender, but one of the saddest moments in comedy came from episode 'Jurassic Bark'. Fry demands his pet dog's body from a museum, wanting to clone the animal after realising how much he misses him. Just as the Professor begins the process though, the computer informs them that Seymour in fact lived until he was fifteen. On the back of that revelation, Fry changes his mind about the cloning, figuring that Seymour must have forgotten about him, as he left him when he was three outside Panucci's Pizza. A pathos-laden flashback then shows that Seymour didn't forget him: he waited his whole life for his owner to return in the exact spot that he was left. It's not often that cartoons can reduce their viewers to tears, but this is one of those examples.
