Buffy has several romantic interests throughout her adventures in Sunnydale, but Angel will always be her true love. Their romance was a core part of the first three seasons, and Angel’s departure is one of the most emotional moments in the entire show.

Indeed, Buffy and Angel have plenty of loved-up moments together, and to lighten the mood, Sarah Michelle Gellar and David Boreanaz would sometimes eat foul-smelling food (such as tuna and pickles) before they were required to kiss. Gellar also sewed items of clothing together to make it more difficult for Boreanaz to remove them during their romantic scenes.

These odd habits may seem a little unprofessional, but when you consider how many kisses they had to do during the first three seasons, it’s hardly surprising they went to such lengths to keep themselves entertained.

Whilst it’s fun to know about these details, it’s hard to take Buffy and Angel’s romance seriously when you consider what was going on behind the scenes.
