Clap Your Hands If You Believe was Supernatural’s version of a hilarious X-Files episode, even ripping off the iconic X-Files opening for the opening title card of the episode.

This offering sees the Winchester brothers investigate UFOs and crop circles which are linked with the mysterious disappearances of the people of Elwood, Indiana. When Dean gets taken by one of the mysterious UFOs, we learn later on that, when he comes back, he was actually transported to the Fairy realm and that the fairies were the cause of the kidnappings.

There are a few unscripted moments that appeared in this episode, though there’s one that is the most noticeable but extremely hilarious addition to the episode. Dean mistakenly ends up talking to a little man, thinking he was a fairy that was haunting him since the abduction. He later apologies, saying he was only kidding (another improvisation by Jensen Ackles) but was still arrested for attacking someone on the street.

As Dean’s being placed into the cop car, he yells out to Sam to “FIGHT THE FAIRIES!” multiple times, making this the best improv Jensen did in the episode as it added more humour into the already bizarre episode.
