10 Upcoming Horror TV Shows That Will Scare The S**t Out Of You
4. Alien
Few things could tingle horror fans' scary sense, or be more welcome than an Alien TV series. In fact, there have been few times during the 40-odd years since the original film hit theatres when such a thing would have been met with anything but rapturous fanfare from the get.
Though the scripts are completed for the show, there are currently few details available as to what specifically we can expect to see from it. However, we do know it's being built in the image of Ridley Scott and James Cameron's originals, which means cold, moody sets, a compelling cast of space-based characters and drooling, hissing, acid-spitting xenomorphs by the ship-load.
Filming for the show doesn't actually begin until 2023, but several reports have it scheduled to hit screens later in the year, as TV shows don't typically command the same lengthy production, editing, marketing and distribution process as their silver screen counterparts.
That it's being helmed by Fargo's Noah Hawley can only be a good sign, in terms of the new show not just being filled with enough horror to slake our xenomorph thirst, but in it providing a story that actually gets the viewer invested, and which sits well in the broader canon. If things go right, this could well be the Alien franchise's Mandalorian.
