10 Upcoming Movies That Would Work Way Better As TV Shows
9. The Purge 2
The Purge was a surprisingly successful thriller given how totally ridiculous its premise was, in which, for 12 hours on one day every year, all crime becomes legal, and the rich shut themselves away while the poor rip each other to pieces. A sequel is already in production, depicting another family as they try to survive The Purge. This makes a very good point from the outset, that it could be interesting to see how different families in different circumstances deal with the effects of The Purge. So, why not make it a TV show? 12 or 13 episodes a season, 45-50 minutes per episode, with each episode showing how a different person or family tries to survive the madness. It would need to be hardcore and R-rated, and given how Showtime were so good with allowing Masters of Horror on their network, this show would likely fit them like a glove. FX might work (as they run American Horror Story), but they get nervous around the F-word and nudity, which isn't great.
