10 Upcoming New HBO Series To Be Excited About

2. Vinyl

HBO

Martin Scorsese is directing the first episode. That sentence alone should be reason enough to tune into Vinyl when it airs on HBO (expected sometime in 2016), but if you need a bit more information then here goes. This is the long-gestating rock'n'roll project that Scorsese has said to have been bringing to HBO for sometime now, with Mick Jagger executive producing and Terrence Winter creating and writing the show. Bobby Cannavale will star, supported by the likes of Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, and Juno Temple.

That is a rather fantastic array of talent both behind and in front of the camera. Vinyl will focus on Cannavale's music producer as he struggles to resurrect his record label. It'll be set in the 1970s, and with the burgeoning punk and disco scenes in New York there will be a whole lot of music to explore, which means that this should not only look great, but sound it as well. Hopefully they can really capture that 70s feel, and deliver a show that the cast and crew is capable of.
