10 Upcoming New HBO Series To Be Excited About

Sarah Jessica Parker helped to give HBO one of its first major hits, and now the Sex And The City star is returning with a new half-hour comedy. Sharon Horgan - who recently co-wrote and starred alongside Rob Delaney in the fantastic sitcom Catastrophe - has created the show, which will focus on a New York woman going through a lengthy divorce process.

It's SJP's first commitment to a TV series since SATC ended, which should have you like OMG (because acronyms!). Horgan has proven herself adept at writing extremely smart and witty shows that deal with relationships and being a female over the age of 40, suitably cutting and sarcastic about the way they're usually treated, and Parker seems like a natural fit for the role. Thomas Haden Church will be playing the soon-to-be ex-husband, while Jesse Peretz has directed the pilot episode. If it can match the quality delivered in either Sex and the City or Catastrophe, then HBO will be onto yet another winner.
