10 Upcoming TV Show Reboots (And Their Chances Of Survival)

1. The Twilight Zone

The Original: Creator Rod Serling’s science fiction series was revolutionary TV when it hit CBS’ airwaves in 1959. Combining horror and fantasy, each half-hour episode presented new characters and stories that often touched upon technology, space exploration, the threat of atomic war, and the primal fears of mankind.

The Reboot: The show certainly isn’t a stranger to reboots. It’s already been brought back for TV twice, once for a 110 episode run in 1986 and again in 2002 for 43 episodes. Then there was Twilight Zone: The Movie, which featured vignettes directed by legends like John Landis and Steven Spielberg. We’re here to talk about the new Twilight Zone though, and this time around Get Out writer/director Jordan Peele will be executive producing. “Too many times this year it’s felt we were living in a twilight zone, and I can’t think of a better moment to reintroduce it to modern audiences,” Peele told Variety.

Chance Of Survival: The show’s previous reboots might not have had the lasting impact of the original, but they were far from disasters. Given Peele’s knack for wringing creative storylines out of modern culture, his version could be an exciting new addition to the Twilight Zone canon.
