Credit where it's due: Amazon have found the perfect Jack Reacher in the underrated Alan Ritchson, who's about as physically close to Lee Child's most iconic character as it's possible to get. That aside, though, who wants this show to exist?

Following on from the lacklustre reception of Tom Cruise's generic take on the character, it seems Reacher is set to capitalise on how miscast the action star was in the role, whilst relying on some of the streamer's biggest hints - Bosch, Goliath - to jump on yet another uninspired series about a troubled man with career issues.

There's very little original about Reacher that makes this small screen adaptation all that intriguing, a fact that becomes even more clear when you consider how difficult it's going to be to capture the energy, grit, and brutal simplicity of Child's writing.

As it stands, Reacher is about as interesting as a bag of flour, unable to be properly brought to the screen and far too similar to Amazon's other shows to make a dent.
