10 Upcoming TV Shows NOBODY Asked For
2. How I Met Your Father
Like some shows on this list, How I Met Your Father has some things going for it, including an intriguing gender-swap of the story's protagonist, and a more diverse cast that improves on How I Met Your Mother's unbelievably white ensemble.
But that's about where the upcoming spin-off's virtues come to an end. Much like Game of Thrones, How I Met Your Mother was a product of its time, tapping into a market any reboot will surely fail to do in a streaming service-driven market that's not entirely going to interested in potentially several seasons of romantic mystery.
HIMYM had a great run and remains a fan favourite despite its mountainous flaws, and it feels like it'll be quite tough to get invested in yet another twentysomething dramedy that has the potential to let audiences down again at the last hurdle.
As with the rest of this list's inductees, we'll have to wait and see what happens, but given how quiet the reactions have been, it's easy to see How I Met Your Father running for one season before being axed, because no one really wanted it to begin with.
