2. The Walking Dead
As gross as it is violent, AMC's hit show is one of the few shows that actually shocks me anymore. Hard as it is to avoid the straight up grossness on this series, this is an article about violence and I think we tend to almost forget that with The Walking Dead because it is so gross. This series has usually several zombie deaths an episode. And as for the survivors in this series, they tend to die horrifying, gruesome deaths. The humans themselves prove themselves adept at violence and are responsible for some of the more awful scenes in the series because they are human. The governor in particular is responsible for quite a bit of nastiness after he is introduced in season three. Some of this is done by third-party zombies but The Governor and other human characters do not shy away from violence to one another. The Walking Dead is a series that exists in a world where violence is a necessity and this is seen again and again. The other thing about The Walking Dead is how it needs to constantly top itself to continue to be as shocking as it is. Fans of the series can expect The Walking Dead to get worse and worse as the series goes on and readers of the comic book know that some of the most violent things to happen to our survivors are yet to come.
