3. True Blood
In case the title didn't tip you off, there is a lot of blood in this show. A prime example of this is the season 5 finale which made me question if they just had a bunch of excess blood they wanted to get rid of and did so over the course of 45 minutes. Basically everything and everyone in this series is drenched in blood semi-regularly. The most notable piece of violence unique to True Blood is the deaths of vampire characters. Unlike other models of simply turning into a corpse or ash as what happens in Buffy, True Blood has their vampires explode into a pool of blood, guts and other innards upon being staked. The thing about True Blood that isn't true about all of the other series on this list is that the violence on True Blood is pretty fun. It's taken fairly lightly most times and it's too ridiculous to take fully seriously. The violence is meant to entertain more than shock. True Blood is a good series if you like seeing attractive half naked people covered in blood and really, who doesn't?
