10 Ways Buffy The Vampire Slayer Was Almost Totally Different

4. Faith's Story Almost Ended In The Most Brutal Fashion

Faith was a character that you loved to hate, and then hated to love and eventually just loved. Her unique brand of sarcasm and pessimism made it impossible to hate her by the end and watching her take on the role of teacher for the potential slayers really had her story come full circle.

We almost didn't get to see this neat and poetic ending for Faith though, as Whedon was originally set on her character committing suicide after being so wracked with guilt over killing the Deputy Mayor.

Before Faith went full blown bad guy, she was just a rebellious slayer on her way to poisoning Buffy with her attitude towards the world. But everything began to go downhill for the girl when a fight left the very human Deputy Mayor staked in the heart and bleeding to death, all because of Faith's bloodlust for vampires.

Originally, that murder was supposed to be the beginning of the end for the character, but because of the incredible performance from Faith's actress Eliza Dushku, Whedon completely rewrote her story and kept her alive.

Her dark path didn't end in her death, but instead with her joining the evil demon Mayor Wilkins, poisoning Angel and ending up in a coma. Even then Whedon couldn't get enough of her and he kept bringing her back for more!

Lily thought it was about time she wrote Top Ten lists for people other than herself. She also owes her dog a lot of money so she thought it was about time to pay her dues. There is no tv show she likes that she hasn't seen at least twice.
