10 Ways Game Of Thrones Is Basically Modern-Day Britain

4. Weddings Are Eventful

This point is relevant for Britain and pretty much any corner of the globe. Weddings are eventful, for all of the right, and all of the wrong reasons. Everyone reacts in different ways to a wedding, with some genuinely joyful guests, while others simply go to bitch about the bride's dress. Nobody can top a Thrones wedding for drama though. They're the scenes that closely link to British soap operas, where not one happy occasion can pass without incident. The major difference is that while the soap drama usually revolves around a runaway bride or her ex-husband coming back from the dead just in time to burst through the church doors to scream, "I object!" Thrones weddings usually involve grisly deaths. One minute you could be receiving a peck on the cheek from your beloved, gorgeous new wife, and the next, you're writhing on the floor, turning purple, with your eyes bulging out of your head, all while being cradled by your mother and father who just happen to be twin brother and sister. Sure beats watching your Grandad moonwalking on the tables for entertainment.
