9. Our Favourite Characters Will End Up Killing Each Other
Summary: In a final clash in which readers don't know which side to root for, many fan favourites such as Tyrion, Daenerys, Jon and Jaime will end up fighting each other to the death. Reasoning: George R. R. Martin has confirmed that the series' ending will be "bittersweet". Sure, it'll be good to see one of our favourite characters finally achieve what they set out to do, but what happens when that interest conflicts with another POV character? There'd be nothing more bittersweet than two characters that we've known and loved over the course of 7 books killing one another, with both holding the belief that they're doing the right thing. Likelihood: Highly likely. It's certainly Martin's style to have characters in conflict over a tragic misunderstanding, or with neither one being clearly labelled as a 'villain'. Presenting this struggle from two different POV chapters would be completely heartbreaking.
