8. Dean Norris (Hank) - Under The Dome
Interestingly, the first season of Under The Dome aired alongside the final eight episodes of Breaking Bad, an impressive feat until you realize that since the final season of Breaking Bad was split into two parts, so Dean Norris probably finished filming a year before Under The Dome began, debunking any theories of Hank working double time. Essentially, Dean Norris had grown tired of being typecast to the same role, which is that of a cop. In fact, his exact words for his next role were "not a cop." If you were to go through Norris' filmography, then you would find a suspiciously large amount of characters with the name "S.W.A.T. Team Leader," or something to that effect. As such, the actor has gone from DEA Agent ASAC Schrader, as he so proudly called himself in his final heroic moments, to the significantly less heroic politician and car showroom owner "Big Jim" Rennie, father to who the Todd Alquist-esque character of Under The Dome. There is some underlying evil within the character throughout the show, and it is portrayed expertly by Norris. It is quite easy to shine through in a show wherein the dialogue is primarily made up of rhetorical questions and declarative statements, however. Despite the clunky dialogue, the plot is actually interesting enough to keep watching and anyone who has seen the thickness of a Stephen King book will know that there is more than enough source material to go by. If you want to know what Under The Dome is like, it's essentially the plot to The Simpsons Movie, and that's as strange as it sounds.
