10 Ways Gotham Has Redeemed Itself

Barbara Kean has come a long way since she was the confused and annoying girlfriend of straight arrow (at the time) cop James Gordon. When the show began, fans did not know what was going on with her. She was confused and confusing at the same time. Luckily, showrunners were able to sort her out and actually make her interesting.

Since her days as Gordon’s girlfriend, she has murdered her parents, had a stint in Arkham, broke out of said mental institution, and has even opened a nightclub. With her character planted firmly in the villains’ camp, she has been free to attack her ex and work with the Penguin while beginning to build a reputation in Gotham’s underworld.

As a villain, it is obvious that she loves to torture James Gordon (she is not alone) and enjoys being his connection to Gotham’s criminals, which keeps him coming back to her. In a happy business and romantic relationship with Tabitha Galavan, and even serving as James’ hallucinogenic tour guide, she has slowly evolved and become a character that fans can get behind.
