10 Ways That iZombie Is Basically Veronica Mars

It's definitely not a bad thing.

In recent years, The CW has developed a pattern of adapting comics into television series. While the network focus has primarily been on superhero adventures, a la Arrow and The Flash, 2015 has seen a 13-episode adaptation of the more obscure iZombie. iZombie follows the story of Liv Moore, a young woman who was turned into a zombie and became a medical examiner for easy access to brains. As it happens, brains in the iZombie universe have interesting effects on those who partake: the memories of the dearly and deliciously departed linger. Liv uses her abilities to help the Seattle police department solve crimes by devouring the brains of murder victims and posing as a psychic with inside information. As far as zombie shows go, iZombie is pretty far from The Walking Dead. In fact, it bears an uncanny resemblance to past network venture Veronica Mars. This certainly isn't a bad thing; Veronica Mars amassed such an enthusiastic audience of Marshmallows after only three seasons that a feature film was fan-funded nearly a decade after the show went off the air. With iZombie developed by Veronica Mars producers Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero and a handful of actors of Veronica Mars fame popping up throughout the first season, the show has been a delight for Marshmallows and newcomers alike. So, here is a look at 10 wonderful ways that iZombie is basically Veronica Mars...with zombies.
