Angel is a puppet. That's all that needs to be said, really, but we'll go on some more if you're feeling a little bewildered. While investigating a creepy children's show called Smile Time (which is also, conveniently, the name of the episode), the eponymous vampire gets himself cursed by the nefarious demons behind the whole thing and becomes a tiny felt version of himself. Which is both adorable and hilarious, as the rest of his team soon go at great lengths to tell him (especially Spike). Our hero spends the rest of the episode in his more diminutive form, but he can still hold his own in a fight and even gets a new scar when he gets a little too close to his werewolf love interest and she literally tears the stuffing out of him. A little too cute (in more ways than one) for some fans, this is much-loved by many others and is a prime example of the weird and wonderful places Angel was willing to go when it wasn't trying to make you despair at the pitiable follies of humanity.
