10 Worst Brooklyn Nine-Nine Episodes
7. Return To Skyfire (Season 5 Episode 8)
Comedy legend Fred Melamed returns as the steampunk author D.C. Parlov when his latest Skyfire manuscript is stolen and leaked on the internet with the thief demanding half a million dollars for its return. Jake and Terry, being super fans of the Skyfire books, get on the case as they go undercover at a convention to discover who the blackmailer is. In the B storyline, Boyle, Holt and Santiago try to impress their forensics instructor in hopes it will result in the 99th precinct receiving a brand new forensics lab.
What sucks: As interesting as the blackmail storyline is, many of the jokes are rehashed from the first Skyfire episode and Terry and Jake breaking up the family is more cruel than funny. Also, the forensics course storyline is just a lazy way to once again show Holt and Santiago's competitive nature when it comes to academics. Although the fact that they trap Boyle's head in a giant plaster cast is hilarious, the rest of the attempted humour falls flat.
What doesn't suck: Terry and Jake's cosplays are hilarious and, like I said, Boyle's head stuck in plaster tickles the ol' funny bone.
