10 Worst Brooklyn Nine-Nine Episodes

5. The Slump (Season 1 Episode 3)

Brooklyn Nine Nine Jake And Amy He Said She Said
Fox

In the third episode of Brooklyn 99 season 1, Jake is struggling with a pile of unsolved cases and declares himself officially in a slump. Rosa, Amy and Gina meanwhile volunteer to run an intervention for at-risk children to be junior police officers in their schools. Terry is struggling with his own personal mission of trying to construct a doll house for his children.

What sucks: To be fair to this episode, it was VERY early days and a lot of the issues that cropped up within this one have been ironed out since. The problem with it is that each individual A, B and C story end far too abruptly making it all feel rushed. Jake overcoming his slump could have done with more attention and a more interesting ending but because of the other stories running alongside, it didn't get the payoff it deserved.

What doesn't suck: The cold open of the gang discussing their favourite cop film. They all mention classics like Die Hard and Bad Boys but they all agree that the best cop film is when Hitchcock was kicked in the nuts by a hooker who then steals his wallet, comes back, and kicks him again.
