Another bad villain incarnation based on a fantastic character, this time on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. The Mayor was one of the best "big bads" in the history of the series; so evil simply because he was so otherwise ordinary yet completely devious, the Mayor was Buffy at its best. Along with Mr. Trick and Faith, he helped the third season of the show live up to the spectacular second year. Sadly, all good things must end, and in this case, while ending with an on-screen bang, the Mayor went out with a whimper. All season long, the Mayor's grand plan had been his "ascension" in which he would transform into an ancient demon - a behemoth of a beast - yet when it finally happened, he turned into a lame CGI snake that was quickly blown up in Sunnydale High. While many a teen has dreamed of blowing up his school, the mayor snake was not what fans were dreaming of when they looked forward to the ascension. It was, sadly, perhaps the worst use of CGI in the show's entire run.
