10 Worst Buffyverse Villains Of All Time

6. Moloch The Corruptor

Moloch the Corruptor worked extremely well on paper, but wound up being laughable when executed on Buffy, and it was entirely a product of its time. An ancient demon that captivated victims with promises of love, Moloch existed in the online world, where he posed as a student, "Malcolm" - who happens to woo the nerdy Willow. Basically, it was Catfish for monsters. Of course, the rest of the scooby gang are suspicious, and the entire episode, entitled I Robot, You Jane, is basically a warning about online dating which pretty much no longer applies since everyone is online these days. However, it's not Moloch as a concept that fails. Moloch is actually an ancient Ammonite God who really was worshiped throughout history, and his appearance early in the episode, in the flesh, looks pretty decent, and similar to how he appears on a more recent genre show, Sleepy Hollow. At the end of the episode, however, he transfers his consciousness from the net to a robotic body he's managed to assemble, and he looks... well, he looks like a low budget cross between the Predator and a terminator.
