10 Worst CGI Moments In The Arrowverse

7. The Flash - Barry Vs. Solovar

The Flash Solovar
The CW

The Flash did a fantastic job with Gorilla Grodd, making him look every bit as formidable as his comic book counterpart while using him sparingly in dimly lit sewers so that the occasional visual shortcoming wouldn't be obvious.

Unfortunately, it was impossible to do that in the third season when Barry travelled to Gorilla City in broad daylight and battled a giant white gorilla in front of a coliseum full of them.

Honestly, Solovar himself looked great. Not quite as good as Grodd - who, in this same scene, had some great King Kong-esque CGI - but great nonetheless. The problem was just how overpowering the CGI in this scene was and that made all of the shortcomings stand out.

Barry's computer-generated double was called upon throughout and so the stilted CGI Flash flailed around on-screen while CGI Solovar did an equally bizarre stilted run throughout the battle. And whenever the real Flash appeared on-screen, the blurred outline of the green-screen around him undercut the realism of what they were trying to achieve here.
