Parodying movies was a big part of Community's identity, but of all the films to choose, was Lawnmower Man the right one? The outing followed as Dean Pelton purchased a fully immersive virtual reality machine and became engrossed in the digital world, all while Jeff and Frankie tried their best to get a refund on the expensive device.

It does need to be stated that Jim Rash (Dean Pelton) got the most out of this concept as possible, as his performance was highly amusing. Still, the ugly visuals and obnoxious attitude of the character made the whole outing a chore to sit through.

Sadly, the VR aspect of the episode wasn't the only mistake, as it also featured the debut of Britta's parents, who had been secretly paying off her debts. Her attitude towards this was to rage and revolt against them, which made Britta seem severely ungrateful, childish and immature. While we knew she was already all of those things, it wasn't as fun here.
