10 Worst Episodes Of It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
2. The Gang Solves The Bathroom Crisis
Whenever Always Sunny tackles relevant socio-political concepts, it does an excellent job at making a point whilst generating a nonchalant political attitude. This is part of why the deliberately provocative show works surprisingly well on a moral level. Unfortunately, the topical issue of bathroom assignments is a concept that falls flat in many ways within this episode.
To begin, there is a lack of decent set up for this short. The setting is simply the characters sitting around in the bar discussing the issue. Whilst that is something that can work if the topic is interesting enough, in this case it is out of place as the core conflict does nothing to keep the discussion engaging.
Additionally, the climax is utterly disappointing. No real resolution is reached, and it doesn't make for a compelling narrative conclusion.
It presents a dull set up to discuss an issue, and then doesn't even give a strong opinion on the matter. The lack of closure makes the viewer question why they even decided to focus an entire episode on the topic in the first place.
