The new Doctor Who series that began in 2005 has been mostly consistent with its delivery of excellent episodes, but that doesn't mean there aren't a few the fans simply didn't like. The one at the top of those lists is usually "Fear Her," the 11th episode from the second season.

The episode was purchased as a low-budget replacement for a script Stephen Fry wrote that was pushed back. It was designed to be oriented towards children as a lighter episode that would reduce the dark tone that was building up to the season finale.

In the episode, the Tenth Doctor and Rose head to 2012 to watch the Olympic Games, but they stumble across a series of disappearances around a street. Through their investigation, the Doctor learns that a little girl named Chloe has the ability to trap people in drawings, which she derived from an Isolus that has attached itself to her.

Ultimately, she captures the attendees of the Olympic stadium, but the light of the Olympic Flame and the emotion of the crowd attracts the Isolus away from Chloe. The episode has been criticized for its slow pacing and formulaic plot, which seemed out of place in the season.
