10 Worst Guest Stars In Doctor Who History

1. Peter Kay

Since its revival, Doctor Who has, on the whole, given much more consistency in acting. It's offered us some mediocre performances (stand up Michelle Collins, for example) but few out and out bad ones. However, this just means that when a real stinker comes along, it stands out all the more, like a turd at a pool party. Love and Monsters, by Russell T Davies, is a clever, atypical Who story, one that only has a fleeting appearance by the regulars and focuses instead on Elton Pope, a fan of the Doctor, and the odd club of fellow fans, dubbed LINDA, that he meets. It's a sweet, touching story about how a shared obsession can lead to new friends and interests. It's Davies' response to Whizz Kid from The Greatest Show in the Galaxy. But then Peter Kay turns up and does his best to ruin it. Kay's turn is mannered and false before going all out annoying when he reveals himself as the alien Abzorbaloff, a green skinned monster that means fans see Kay in a fat suit and a Mohawk waddling along in a g-string after poor Marc Warren. Rarely has that childhood shame one felt as a kid when it was revealed you were a Doctor Who fan been so startling recreated in the modern era of the show. Peter - never, ever return. What did you think of this list? Are there any other Doctor Who guest stars that should've been included on it? Let us know in the comments section below.
