With a dad like Tywin Lannister, is it any wonder that Jaime, Cersei, and Tyrion are as messed up as they are? With all of their actions, from Jaime and Cersei screwing each other's brains out to Tyrion's constant struggles as the Hand of the King, they're really all just standing around screaming, "Look at me, Daddy! Pay attention to me!" Tywin is a cold man who very rarely feels affection for his three children, and shows it even less often. Most of his ire was directed at Tyrion, whose small stature he viewed as reflecting poorly on the Lannister name, but Jaime and Cersei don't exactly walk away unscathed either. Some of his parenting gems include, upon finding out that his youngest son had married against his wishes, forcing Jaime to tell Tyrion that his new wife was actually a paid whore, and then forced him to rape her after she had already been passed around to all of his guards. So...not exactly Father of the Year material. Frankly, he's lucky it took as long as it did for one of his kids to off him.
