10 Worst Scrubs Episodes

7. My Balancing Act (Season 1 Episode 13)

Scrubs Zach Braff
NBC

In this episode, JD tries to balance his time at the hospital and his new relationship with Alex but finds it an impossible task. Carla and Turk are having problems in the bedroom whilst Dr. Cox tries to tell the interns not to fear Dr. Kelso.

Why it sucks: Season one of Scrubs was a revelation. Sure it had a few issues, like the overuse of sound effects, but for the most part, it was an extremely promising show with bags of potential. That being said, Carla and Turk's storyline was surprisingly lazy considering how early on their relationship was. What was great about the first season of Scrubs was its originality yet the cliched storyline about a new couple having problems in bed felt extremely overused and felt like the writers were playing it safe by falling back on comedy cliches.

What doesn't suck: We get to hear The Shins' song New Slang at the end of the episode. It's a great reminder of how awesome the Scrubs soundtrack is and the fact that it gave so many new and upcoming artists a platform.

I see my role at WhatCulture the same way my wife sees my role as a lover: I contribute in a very small way, my presence is barely noticeable and I’m not entirely sure if the laughter is at me or with me.
