10 Worst Star Trek: Next Generation Episodes

2. Sub Rosa (Season 7 Episode 14)

Beverly Crusher Ghost
Paramount

Dr. Crusher visits the burial site of her grandmother and comes across her old diaries whilst getting her affairs in order. Here she tells the graphic story of a mysterious entity who has been the virtual lover of the women in their family for almost 800 years.

Why It Sucks: Need I say more than what the plot has to offer? When you hear an episode with a plot like that you think to yourself, maybe it's so bad it's good, right? Wrong. I'm not sure what's worse, the fact that the entire episode feels like something out of a poorly written erotic novel you'd find at the back of a second hand book shop or the fact that there is a sex scene with a sort of green gas. The scene itself feels more like a sexual assault than anything. My brain certainly felt assaulted, I'll tell you that much!

What Didn't Suck: Oh man. I suppose the Scottish alien was pretty cool and the actor who played Ronin The Horny Ghost did a decent job considering he didn't have much to work with but my goodness. Never again.

I see my role at WhatCulture the same way my wife sees my role as a lover: I contribute in a very small way, my presence is barely noticeable and I’m not entirely sure if the laughter is at me or with me.
