8. Jax Gave Tig To August Marks
After Opie shot Clay, to protect the club Jax and Unser placed the blame on the Niners. With Tig feeling guilty about not staying with his President like he asked, feeling like he should have prevented such an act, he made the incredibly rash decision to go after Laroy in broad daylight.
Instead of taking out the leader of the Niners however, Tig ran over and killed Veronica Pope, daughter of the incredibly powerful Damon Pope. As part of the deal to keep the Sons of Anarchy from being crushed, Tig was promised to Pope for revenge.
Even after the death of the Oakland kingpin, his protégé and successor, August Marks, kept the debt alive. Towards the start of season six, with Jax trying to make the club's relationship with Marks work, he lured Tig into a trap for August to find and kill him.
The only thing that stopped Tig from being sent to his death by his President and brother was Marks' decision to keep him alive. With Jax trying to keep his club from crumbling after several members had already lost their lives on his watch, he willingly made the decision to let Tig, his brother in arms, die.
