10 Worst Things Sterling Archer Has Ever Done

What has to be one the show's best running gags is also one of Archer's worst and most d*ck-ish moves, and that is of course his notorious alternate voicemails.

It’s true that considering the other entries on this list, elaborate voicemail pranks might seem quite tame. Realistically, they are unlikely to cause anyone personal injury or death, but what they lack in danger they make up for with a sheer determination to be as frustrating as humanly possible.

To begin with, the pranks are relatively simple and only mildly irritating, highlighting Archer's default setting of just being generally irritating at all times. But they soon escalate to an insane degree with Archer successfully predicting countless scenarios and conversation openings. It doesn't stop there though, and Archer quickly starts to add a lot more elements to his outgoing messages.

On one occasion he takes a number of recordings, edits them together and adds additional sound effects. This is ultimately to make it sound, when his voicemail plays, as if he and Ray are under attack. He even manages to link his phone to the lighting and sound system in Tunt Manor causing a rave to kick off whenever he's called.

All these insane and elaborate exploits just show that Archer loves to, if not lives to; annoy, irritate, and frustrate as many people as he can. The amount of conscious effort he puts into each new prank is insane, as he constantly, and intentionally goes out of his way to further his juvenile mission.
