10 Worst TV Shows Of 2016
3. Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders
Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders' frustratingly simplistic worldview begins with its title. "Beyond Borders" seems to imply that the world beyond America is infinitely more dangerous and threatening, as if just by leaving American soil that the stakes have been raised dramatically. That might seem like a laboured interpretation, but the content of the show itself does nothing to dispel it.
The show is steeped in xenophobic paranoia, as the number of vicious murderers and criminals that wander about outside America is depicted as being vast and immeasurable. And even if you get past all that (which you probably shouldn't) the actual writing is terrible.
If you've seen Criminal Minds then you know exactly what to expect with Beyond Borders. Dull, predictable cases and twenty tons of fresh, steaming exposition.
