8. The Crowded Room
You have to give Tom Holland some credit: The guy sure is trying. His latest post-MCU endeavour, The Crowded Room, gives the young actor another opportunity to prove his worth as an actor, but does little to match him.
Based on the real life case of Billy Milligan, a serial killer with multiple personality disorder, the Apple miniseries has a great cast and some intriguing imagery, but it's also so disorganised and shallow in its assessments of mental illness that you'll hard pressed making it through its ten-hour run.
Again, Holland is exceptional, proving once again that he's much more than our Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man, but man-oh-man did the rest of The Crowded Room need fine tuned. If it was a film, we'd call it hollow Oscar-bait; as a show, it's just hollow, destined to be forgotten by summer's end.
