10 Worst TV Shows To Launch This Decade

3. Alcatraz

When Lost ended in 2010, fans were left feeling somewhat marooned, eager for their next glossy sci-fi eye worm to geek out over. This arrived not a moment too soon in 2012 in the form of Alcatraz, a show that was billed as being brought to us by the makers of Lost - in reality, the closest J.J. Abrams got to this was with a composer credit - and promised plenty of period intrigue amid the titular prison.

As is a recurring theme with high concept shows, the show had a great start, with over 10 million viewers tuning in to its January debut, impressed with opening episodes that did well to draw out the show's missing prisoner plot. But come the end of its thirteen-episode run, fans had tired of Sam Neill trudging through scenes and Jorge Garcia doing his best to convince us he is a doctor.

Ultimately, the show was cancelled last May with little uproar from the Abrams faithful.
