10 Worst TV Spin-Offs Of All Time

9. The Tortellis

That '80s Show
NBC

Who could ever forget Cheers, where everybody knows your name? Who could ever remember The Tortellis, its first spin-off?

Cheers was massively popular in its day, and it's not hard to imagine why the powers that be wanted to cash in on that popularity by producing a spin-off. It would also be hard to argue with them, considering that later Cheers spin-off Frasier is still widely enjoyed today.

But before Frasier, there was The Tortellis.

It had a 13 episode run in 1987, and it followed Carla's ex-husband Nick and his new wife Loretta as Nick attempted to change his unpleasant ways in the hopes of saving their marriage.

It wasn't received well, and achieved abysmal ratings.

After the show was cancelled, Nick and Loretta appeared once more on Cheers, where they brushed off the events of the show and returned to the small guest roles that they never should have been promoted from.

Still, Frasier was great, wasn't it?
