Back in 2011, someone decided that Sex and the City deserved not only a prequel series, but that it should be aimed at teens and air on the CW.

And thus, The Carrie Diaries was born.

It first aired in 2013, and managed a total of 26 episodes over two seasons before it was cancelled.

AnnaSophia Robb plays a 16 year old Carrie Bradshaw, who is sent to Manhattan for an internship.

If you've ever wanted to feel incredibly uncomfortable watching a child act as though she's a grown woman, The Carrie Diaries might just be something for you.

The trailer alone is cringe-inducing, and the show was little better.

Add in Doctor Who alum Freeman Agyeman, and the standard teen heartthrob male lead, and you have The Carrie Diaries, a misguided attempt of making a show for adults into a show for children.

It received mixed reviews, and was thankfully cancelled before it could do any further damage to society.
