100 Reasons Why Lost is The Greatest TV Show Of All Time

2. Jack Shephard

From the moment his eye opened until the moment it closed; Jack was our hero. Conflicted and broken; brilliant yet vulnerable; he was everything you could want in a character who was entrusted with carrying the show at points. Some complained that he had a God complex; but that was an unfair label of a man driven by a desire to prove himself, lifting the weight of expectation he never wanted we followed him through every journey. Through every heart breaking moment he was there, because that was Jack, he was there for everyone as he tried to fix things, to prove he had what it takes. His was a journey that really encapsulated the show, from the sceptical man of science to the belief driven man of faith he was an anchor that was the source of some of the shows best scenes, more interesting twists and more emotional developments. Jack was anything but a conventional hero; his desire to fix things was driven by a thirst to prove something to himself just as much as it was to help people. His was a journey that transcended the obvious; and one that kept us invested until the very end.
