11 Awesome TV Characters That Keep Getting Unfairly Sidelined

6. Molly Hooper - Sherlock

Molly's character began to improve during season three, though it is clear that the writers are consistently shoving her emotions for Sherlock down our throats. She is played wonderfully by Louise Brealey and she has the potential to be an awesome female character, such as Mary Morstan. Molly has been being unfairly sidelined all throughout the seasons and the writers make sure to keep reminding us that her love for Sherlock ensures that she will be there to give him anything he needs, no matter how obscure. The writers need to give her more of a purpose than to be 'the girl with a crush', and it's surprising that they haven't done it yet. Mary was in only three episodes before her storyline took an abrupt twist and she already has much more to her than they are giving Molly credit for.
