The episode: 'Simpsons Tall Tales' The role: Jim Carrey as Singing Hobo The Simpsons almost fulfilled an odd wish to see Jim Carrey as a drunken raconteur, when they lined him up as the singing hobo in the "Simpsons Tall Tales" episode. But alas, it wasn't to be. Okay, so Jim Carrey actually said yes to being on the show: he actually received the script and intended to play the part. But then, when it was time to shoot, he realised that he was too busy with his other projects to record the lines. Again Hank Azaria stepped in and, to be fair, made an awesome singing hobo but it could have been great with Carrey.
