11 Characters Who Will Probably Die In 2017's Biggest TV Shows

Why He'll Die

Stranger Things is a lot of fun, but it's also shown that it isn't afraid to get dark and properly kill off characters - as evidenced by the demise of Barb (even if they didn't acknowledge it). With more room to play with in the second season, things can get even darker, and there'll probably be another casualty.

The focus needs to remain on the kids though, and it's difficult to see any of them being killed off. So in order to put the focus back on them, that means an adult dying. And of the two main adults, Detective Hopper is far more wrapped-up in the central mystery than Joyce, dealing with shadowy figures, and a big risk.

How It'll Happen

Season 2 will need to build upon the mysteries of the first year, broadening the scope to show the full scale of what's been going on. And Hopper, with his connections to the agency involved and wherever Eleven ended up, is right in the thick of it. As a detective, he'll be sticking his nose where it doesn't belong, and there's a chance of disastrous consequences. It may be that he ends up in the Upside Down (there could be more than one monster), or doesn't even get that far if he starts discovering too many secrets, meaning he has to be taken out.
